"Tele-Torah" Learning

The only pre-requisites for "Tele-Torah" are a willingness to learn and a telephone.

Rabbi Caleb Fischer, the CFR rabbinic intern, has been very effective utilizing the phone as a great way to customize one-on-one Torah learning.

“The topics I’m covering range from practical Halacha, the weekly Torah portion, understanding the laws of ritual purity / impurity, and philosophy. Phone sessions have ranged from 15 to 45 minutes,” says Caleb.  “I welcome the wide range of topics and the open discussions. My goal is to cultivate increased Torah knowledge and Jewish awareness that will engage the participant and hopefully lead to increased  Jewish observance. “

"Growing up non-observant, I have tried to educate myself late in life. I never even meant to practice Judaism, but Center for Return has opened up my self-regard as a Jew with their newest learning program. "Tele-Torah" is an opportunity to study any subject I choose, at my own pace, whenever my schedule allows.
Rabbi Fischer has been excellent at bringing the textual tradition powerfully into the present. The tangential discussions have been just as enlightening!"
