Torah Thinkers Forum

The purpose of a “CFR Online Torah Thinkers Forum” is to create a virtual classroom and develop an open conversation to share ideas. The CFR rabbinical staff will present the Torah point of view. Through this dialog we hope to enhance the participants' knowledge, practice and appreciation of Judaism.

Terms and Conditions

The purpose of an “Online Torah Thinkers Forum” is to create a virtual classroom for those CFR members who would both make a positive contribution and receive benefit by their involvement.

The Forum’s format would be the following:

1. Twice monthly i.e. on the 1st of the month and the 16th of the month CFR Rabbis will post on our website a topic/idea/issue which would normally not be broached in the regular classes we give. As an example, we may raise social and political issues which we usually do not discuss in the classes. Some things might be very provocative – we feel comfortable sharing them with this group of 50 we are inviting to participate.

2. We will post the topic on the 1st and the 16th of the month and fora few days let you respond – then we will post what we feel is the Torah approach to the topic – and again ask for your thoughts.

3. The Torah Thinkers Forum will be open to participants by invitation only.

4. The number of participants (at least initially) will be limited to 50.

5. Only those 50 people will be able to see the forum and post comments.

6. Membership in the “Torah Thinkers Forum” will be cancelled if there is no posting by a member for three consecutive months.

7. This forum will be moderated. Participant’s responses are expected to be focused and on topic. No derailment of the current topic will be allowed.

8. To suggest topics you may be interested in discussing, call our office and if at all possible, we will be very delighted to accommodate.
